Seacoast Artists Guild is proud to be affiliated with the students at Coastal Carolina University Department of Art. Encouraging young artists is the best way to insure that creativity in art continues. For the past few years we have sponsored the Student Art Show and awarded scholarships to the top students.
Walter and Marcelle Cushman began the Seacoast Artists Guild to promote the work of local artists. One thing they especially wanted to do was to support the efforts of student artists. Through the Cushman Fund, which is named after Walter and Marcelle, it is with great pride that we continue their wishes by recognizing the work of the student artists at Coastal Carolina University.
At the Art Show Awards presentations, Nicholas Mariano announced that he has established the Patricia and Nicholas Mariano Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is in memory of his beloved wife Pat who was an award winning artist in a variety of mediums and passed away earlier this year.
Pat and Nick want to help 2 Coastal Carolina University art students each year who aspire to pursue their Art Education by providing this scholarship to assist with their tuition.
Details about how to apply are available in the Art Department Office.
